Something made this book just so-so. I’m going to have to be in the “film is better than the book” camp for this one.

I know part of the element of The Princess Bride is being a slight satire of the hero saving the damsel-in-distress fantasy type, where there is danger, romance, heroes, villains, etc, but it all seemed a bit contrived. In total, I felt it was an unbalanced read and not as good as the film.

Loved the movie but the book was seriously meh for me. Some funny bits but on the whole, had to force myself to finish it.
