Loved it! Quintessentially English and Victorian:- Melodrama, long-winded, some hocus-pocus elements in the plot, but still immensely readable today. An absolute treat. It did sag a bit towards the end but by then I'd chuckled my way through the first half and the 5 stars were firmly awarded.

Fan-freaking-tastic novel!!! It started out a little slow, maybe the first 20 pages or so, so I had some doubts, but....wow! It was such a great plotline with twists, turns, suspects, clues (but only clues that raised more questions). I guessed multiple suspects at random, picking likely characters, unlikely characters, I honestly wasn't sure. I was dying to know who took the moonstone, how, and why. I really got caught up in the suspense of the plotline and read it to the very last sentence. Ab
