I had put off reading this because I tend not to like books that are big on the "book club circuit". I can't remember who said this or if I read it somewhere but this book was suggested if you like the book/movie 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD...which I adore. I bought a copy of this book for $1 at a library book sale. Even after owning it I didn't pick it up for almost a year. Then I read it in less than 24 hours.
