We actually have a different version of this book. It's a Step Into Reading Book but I a "Step 4" printed in 2009.
Anyway, my 7 year old and I both loved this book. That's mostly to do with the fascinating and somewhat gruesome subject matter. But this book was easily tackled by my reluctant reader at age 7 so is best for the average reader who is ready for chapters that include about 4 paragraphs to some pages, mostly 1 or 2 per page.
