AS MUCH AS I LIKED THIS BOOK, I FELT IT WAS VERY LONG WINDED. IT SEEMED TO TAKE FOREVER FOR THE BOOK TO GET FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER. LIKE "EVERYTHING" WAS ADDED. ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT JUSTIFIED, I COULD UNDERSTAND HOW BITTER, AND ANGRY OLIVIA BECAME. WHEN SHE FIRST MARRIED MELCOME, HE WAS NOT IN LOVE WITH HER, HE NEVER LOVED HER. HIS INFATUATION OF HIS MOTHERS SWAN ROOM WAS SO BIZZAR. THEN THE WAY HE MADE SEXUAL ADVANCES TWARDS HIS FATHERS WIFE, AND HOW OLIVA SAW EVERYTHING HE DID. SHE JUST SWAL ...more

Garden of Shadow tells of how the horrors of all the other books were allowed to happen. Told from the point of view of Olivia Foxworth, the tyrant of a grandmother in Flowers in the Attic, and how Malcolm Foxworth and his past shaped their future.

This book had me feel for Olivia and how unhappy her life was and wonderfully explains how the events of the other books could have taken place. I know this story happens BEFORE the other books but it's meant to be read AFTER you read the other ones. ...more

Garden of Shadows is the prequel novel in the Flowers series. It tells the story of Olivia (the grandmother) Foxworth and her life with Malcolm (the grandfather)Foxworth. This book sheds some more light on the forbidden romance between Corrine and Chris. See how the horror began!!
