This is a re-read for me. I've read this book several times, mostly in high school and college. I was obsessed with V.C. Andrews, her books, and her characters. I decided I missed reading her books and decided I would re-read this series again.

I'm pretty sure that this is not only my favorite of the VCA books, but my favorite book of all time.

Melodrama that I would tear a book in half for is... so much enjoyable in a VCA novel. I'm not sure why, I think it's because it's so over the top that it's just... amazing. I love it, I loved this. I loved Heaven's burning need to prove herself, the fact that she wasn't perfect, for all that she's worshipped by others. This is by far my favorite book in this series. The romance between Troy and Heaven is wonderfully romantic especially when juxtaposed against the still Farthingale manor stiff and stuffy environment.
