A woman in our library book club recommended this after we discussed “Where the Crawdads Sing” but I needed a pause from novels often described as “Southern” “historical” “women’s” fiction.
I finally listened to the audiobook and now would also recommend it. Well-written with a sense of urgency and drama that kept me involved and caring about the main characters, Avery and Riil/May. Great narration too!
