I initially dismissed this challenge as I don't typically choose books specifically with themes about animals or the Finger Lakes, but suddenly realized the book I just finished (and loved) took place right in here in Freeville, NY! It is the new one by Amy Dickinson, Strangers Tend to Tell Me Things. It was a light interesting read and kept me entertained, engaged, and informed about small town life just miles outside of Ithaca. Dickinson continues with this memoir from her earlier "Mighty Queens of Freeville." She discusses her remarriage, being a stepmother, and caring for a frail elderly parent. The book is very
readable and of particular interest with a local author dealing with events in a local area.
