I have to say that I enjoyed this more than I was expecting. That being said I don't think this book is something out of this world, quite on the contrary. The whole plot isn't that much to be honest. I was a bit halfway through it and got myself thinking that hasn't really happened nothing great. It was an okay story. I totally devoured this book! I also went ahead and ordered the other two in the series so that I can find out how everything resolves. I'm officially invested and I'll be really sad when I finish the third book.

In the vein of Robin McKinley, Maria V. Snyder, and Kristin Cashore. All of whom I'm a fan. I like that it drew upon Russian folklore, sets it apart. Engaging tale! How long do I have to wait for the second book?

I would place this at a 3.5 stars- I liked the story enough though I could have done without the love triangle
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this. Would have benefited of being a little bit longer.
