This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson who lives with his mom, Sally Jackson, and his step-dad, Gabe Ugliano, wishing he knew his real dad. Percy goes to a boarding shcool-Yancy Academy. His class is going on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and something rather unexpected happens. His teacher, Mrs. Dodds, turned into a monster, and tries to kill Percy. This book was fantastic. Though there is one thing I thought was kind of hard to keep track of. That was all the characters. There were so many of them, I could probably only remember half of them. The main characters are Percy, Grover, and Annabeth. Then the secondary characters were Chiron(a.k.a. Mr. Brunner), Luke, Zeus, and Poseidon. Then there were about 5 other characters that were hardly init like Ares, Hades, Medusa, Mrs. Dodds, etc. Other than that, this book was terrific and I reccomen ...more

I have to say... I really enjoyed this book. I really like the sarcasim and life Rick Riordan gives his characters. I've read the Red Pyramid and I absolutley loved Carter and Sadie but I think that I like Percy, Annabeth and Grover better. The book was so creative! I can't wait to read the Sea of Monsters!!!!!! ...more
