I gave this book a solid 4 stars. I will read it again because I think I missed some critical pieces since I listened to it rather than read it. However the narrator was fabulous with the different accents for each person. Each and every character was unique and his own voice.

I spent the past year or 2 looking everywhere for this book because it sounded so good, and I was not disappointed. There are awesome characters, some really beautiful descriptions, and a good mixture of moments that make you want to laugh and cry.
The reason I dropped half a star was that after the wishbone was broken the change was a bit sudden for so late at night, and it confused me a bit. After continuing on it went from being confusing to heart-wrenchingly beautiful, so a ...more

I feel i am being generous to this book in giving it 2 stars but I am sure there is a cdre of readers that will love it. For me it felt like watching a film from halfway through, there is neither scene setting or any explanation of the world view. Why does Brimstone collect teeth for instance? You have to read the whole thing to get anywhere near an answer to this and many other questions that i had. the whole narrative was just continuous"errands" without any compelling reason.
