I have actually read the book twice, once for a sociology class and again during a recent trip. I am impressed at how well Barbara describes the plight of the
American worker without sounding pretensious or over the top. This is a great read for those starting their studies into economic inequality.

I should tip waiters- more than 10 percent. Perhaps not the most uplifting thing to read when I work at a job that is similar in some ways to many of the jobs Barbara worked.
