I have mixed feelings about this book; Sachs clearly knows what he is talking about and has much practical experience in the area of foreign aid and development, on the otherhand, however, I couldn't help but feel this was a clicheed ride through many development practices that have been tried umpteen times before.

Professor Sachs provides a detailed analysis on the economic developments of countries from Europe to Asia, Latin America, and Africa over the last millennium since the Industrial Revolution. Good to read a book from a clinical economist's perspective. Couldn't get into this one. Mostly about his experiences and thoughts around the world. Very wordy and I couldn't stay focused on it. Dull to me.
