What Members Thought
After all these years, I finally get around to reading JQ's first published book. It has much of what would come to be the trademark JQ style - engaging characters, supportive family members, witty repartee. This was JQ's first novel and it was better than I expected. I really enjoyed it. Our heroine is Emma, an American heiress, in London to visit her cousins. She meets Alex, a Duke, and they embark on a very complex relationship. Emma is very bold and outgoing, not at all shy. And she tends to speak her mind which gets her into trouble. She is mischievous. Alex is definitely not looking for a wife. But, of course, he is intrigued by Emma. And their families encourage their relationship.
