I love Eloisa James so I figured I'd give this series of hers a try. I enjoyed it. The lay out and pace of the story is very good and the distrust the Earl harbors is something that anyone would have after the issues with his first wife. Charlotte was a naive girl and after one moment of passion she decided she couldn't marry and turns to her art. She becomes an amazing artist but realizes she wants a family. When I first read this book I absolutely loved it! Now that I've read it again, I'm not sure that I like Alex as much as before. However, the writing is still fantastic and it's great when books have a strong female friendship like the one between Charlotte and Sophie.
