I was about halfway through the book at my last post, very pleased, and did not want to put it down! I do have to say this is not a happy book or a book with ironic humor; however, while at times dark it is a powerful read. Alone is a paranormal romance with a human woman and vampire with a bit of new take on vampires. The book also deals with the significant issue of spousal abuse. Alone is nice easy read. There is nothing in Alone to have to make to think to hard or pull out a dictionary to understand what it means. The story is in present day and with real present day problems that exist. If you have a problem reading about spousal abuse then this book is not for you. There is a great part of the book based on past incidents and new ones of course. I don't think its too major that it makes you cringe but I did get upset when reading it.
