A well-imagined vampire romance in a darkly appealing world. The chemistry between the two leads is really intense, but not sappy. Love is anything but logical, right? I found that there were plenty of twists to this book- my favorite being the use of empathy as a "special power." I haven't seen empathy portrayed well all that often, and thought Ms. Pandos did a great job with it. When I first purchased this book i figured it was about Vampires. I thought that it would be the same storyline with a little changes. But to my surprise, it was completely different. I immediately fell in love with the personality of the main character. She tells it like it is and is respected among her piers which i thought was awesome. Bloodthirsty stalker + creepy pychic = awesome plot! Readers will dive right into this novel with Julia, the main character, leading the way. Julia will come off as likable, sincere, and witty. She and the reader will likely connect within the first few pages. The secondary characters were pretty well-developed for the most part, the reader will enjoy (mostly!) getting to know these.
