I really liked this book! The Emerald Talisman is the first book in YA Talisman series. Since I was reading it on Kindle for PC, and had some troubles with my computer, I couldn’t read it as quickly as I wanted to. When I finally got these problems fixed, reading went quickly.

To be honest, I wasn't sure about this book at first. As I continued to read, Brenda Pandos began to weave a web of mystery and suspense around her character, Julia. This was the first book I've read in a long time that actually fits under "teen" in the YA genre. Yes, many YA books' characters are in their teens, but they do not act like teenagers. This was one of those awesome books that grabbed my attention from the very beginning! Julia, the main character, can sense emotions, so when she finds herself alone in a forest at night and suddenly senses savage blood lust, you can imagine the stone cold fear that consumes her!
