Διαβάζοντας για δεύτερη φορά τον Κουρδιστό άγγελο,το πρώτο βιβλίο,θεώρησα ότι το επόμενο όσο καλό και να ήταν δεν θα μπορούσε να το ξεπεράσει.Λάθος τελικά καθώς το δεύτερο βιβλίο ήταν ακόμη πιο υπέροχο από το πρώτο όσο γίνεται να συμβεί κάτι τέτοιο.Το να μιλήσω για την πλοκή ή για τους χαρακτήρες λεπτομερειακά δεν νομίζω ότι έχει κανένα νόημα αφού όλα τα βρήκα υπέροχα χωρίς ούτε ένα ψεγάδι.Το μόνο που θα πώ είναι ότι η Cassandra Clare αντί να μας λύνει τις περισσότερες απορίες μας δημιουργεί νέ ...more

Fluttering Thoughts:

World Building: A cross between spectacular Victorian London and awesome fantasy, a full delight just like in the first book. I'm a total geek for Victorian! xD
Characters: Cool, as always. While Will was more center stage in the first book, it's safe to say Jem gets a lot of standing ovations in this one. Benedict Lightwood is a good ole boy dressed up in english finery. He's making things difficult for Charlotte, contesting her position as head of the institute and instigating an ultimatum, find Mortmain in a fortnight or Victorian Era London was never so chastely sinful until Cassandra Clare penned her Prince. Benedict Lightwood is a good ole boy dressed up in english finery. He's making things difficult for Charlotte, contesting her position as head of the institute and instigating an ultimatum, find Mortmain in a fortnight or resign to someone better suited for the job, namely himself.

Will's carefully constructed walls are crumbling. Years of playing the cad and inciting loathing like armor had one kink, while keeping others from loving him, it couldn't stop Will from falling in love. He's on mission to find a cure for his curse and get the girl. Unsurprisingly Jem has a similar idea as he sets his sights on Tessa.

But the impending love triangle forming is the last thing on Tessa's mind, as she finds out just how deep Mortmain's conspiracy and planning really goes. He has spies everywhere and always seems to be five moves ahead of them, ready to sack the king and declare checkmate. Making it hard to know if any thwarting of his devious endeavors are really a solution to the problem at hand or just a part of Mortmain's master plan.

No sophomore jinx here. Clockwork Prince was by far more superior to it's predecessor. And that is quite a feat. Clare combines all the wondrous romance of the period and infuses it with a whole new life within her supernatural shadowhunter world. Clockwork Prince is what I would imagine a spanish soap opera would be like if Jane Austen were writing the screenplay. My favorite parts were the bits with Sophie. Yet if there was just one reason I could give to sway potential readers it would be to read Will's declaration of love.

What's even better than reading Clockwork Prince? Well, listening to it being narrated by Ed Westwick and Heather Lind of course. Westwick did another outstanding job voicing the male chapters. I like his voice, it's a little deep, a little raspy, but not too much and not too old sounding. Though I find it funny that his natural english accent isn't very heavy. Heather Lind as well sounds about the right age and well read as I imagine Tessa sounding. I really enjoyed her throwing herself into the different characters using a variety of accents american for Tessa, cockney for Sophie, and a traditional english accent for the more well born characters. This is a very high quality audiobook, don't miss out on it.

All in all Clockwork Prince is proving prequels can be better than their predecessors. With all it's twists and turns, romance, and intrigue Clockwork Prince is an amazing read. ...more

I was a little bit worried when I started to read "The Infernal Devices", I was fearing that I will be disappointed by the similarity with "The Mortal Instruments". Actually I wasn't really caught by Clockwork Angel at first and I really could see lots of things in common with the first Shadowhunters saga.
Going ahead with the story made me change my mind. The entire framework was incredible and original as I used to imagine Shadowhunters fighting in the modern America; The idea of set the story I was a little bit worried when I started to read "The Infernal Devices", I was fearing that I will be disappointed by the similarity with "The Mortal Instruments". Actually I wasn't really caught by Clockwork Angel at first and I really could see lots of things in common with the first Shadowhunters saga.
Going ahead with the story made me change my mind. The entire framework was incredible and original as I used to imagine Shadowhunters fighting in the modern America; The idea of set the story in the Victorian London characterized all the characters and their manners, making them uniques.
I really enjoyed this book, even more than the first one. I was disappointed by the end of the first one so I was interested in knowing how the story went on. For the first 150 pages I was not so focused on the book, actually, because the story doesn't seem to get to a point but, when for the first time appears Will's family, I was so interested in the book that I could not be able to put it down. I love Will! I still try to convince myself that Jem and Tessa will be perfect together but it's just not fair!
I loved the way Cassandra described Will emotions and I couldn't stop following what was his curse until the end, when the secret is revealed. The last 100 pages were so moving that I couldn't stop crying until the end that left me really depressed.
It was amazing seeing how every little details on the book then became something absolutely important which influenced the course of events. The most exciting part was when Will finally "got free" from his curse and finally decided to speaking of his feelings with Tessa and, at the same time, Jem was proposing her.
Moreover, even if the end broke my heart, I was amazed by the incredible importance that Cassandra gave to friendship: the love between parabatai had won against the love for one girl. Will had given up on the only girl who have ever loved for making is friend happy. For the first time he had seen Jem happy and strong and he couldn't stand the thought of taking from him the only person who had this effect on him. The final toast was really to much to bear for me and I couldn't avoid bursting into tears.
The clockwork Prince was really amazing, Cassandra Clare, as always has done a wonderful job. The world that she has created since "City of Bones" is simply unique and so engaging. In the deepest part of my heart I have always wanted to live like a Shadowhunter and among Shadowhunters and I wish that series like this never ends. :) ...more

OH my goodness. I am so in love with this series. I will force myself not to start book 3 until tomorrow or else I might not go to sleep tonight.

Book 2 breaks my heart. I knew it would. I can't say that I'm surprised necessarily with what happened in the story, and the overall plot for the series did not move forward nearly as much as I would've liked, but it is set up nicely for a HUGE finale with Clockwork Princess. Wow, what an awesome second book in the series. Absolutely loved it! Loved everything about it. The love, the love triangle, the suspense, the action, etc. Mostly I don't like love triangles in series. The first thought I had after reading the last word of Clockwork Prince was: When's the next installment? I can't wait! Never have I been so torn between two characters! Clare's portrayal of Will and Jem was so touching that at times I felt my own heart caught up in it, almost breaking. Poor Tessa!
