If there was a good reason for a three-way these kids need to have one.. like pronto. I mean, I want her to have both of these guys. The build up with Will, as their souls stichted by the Angels, but who could ever break Jem's heart. Three-way. Everyone happy. Oh, not socially acceptable in 2012 let alone the late 1800's? hmmmm. Well, social morey's are different for the shadow hunters....

Oh, Cassandra Clare, how you tease me!!! Gosh! Once again Clare delivers an astounding book, pulling me full-force into Victorian London and refusing to let me up for air. While I wasn't as completely enamored with this book like its predecessor, it's still a great book, and a great lead-in to the upcoming book in the trilogy.

THE GOOD:
Again, Clare manages to make everything feel as though you're standing on the cobbled streets with Tessa, Jem, and Will. You want to reach out and touch the dresse Oh, Cassandra Clare, how you tease me!!! Gosh! Once again Clare delivers an astounding book, pulling me full-force into Victorian London and refusing to let me up for air. While I wasn't as completely enamored with this book like its predecessor, it's still a great book, and a great lead-in to the upcoming book in the trilogy.

THE GOOD:
Again, Clare manages to make everything feel as though you're standing on the cobbled streets with Tessa, Jem, and Will. You want to reach out and touch the dresses and wipe the soot from your shoulders as it rains down from the factories. I love that! The emotions she makes you feel for the characters, and the fact that you invest in them is evidence to her ability to paint with words. Everyone was in their element, and I loved getting to know Magnus Bane more. I enjoyed seeing more Downworlders, and I'm sure there are even more amazing characters to come in the third book.

THE BAD:
While it may just be me, I just didn't enjoy the love triangle as much as I did in other books. I felt like Tessa should have known better, I don't know. Plus, she was alternating between kissing the guys on every other page. It just didn't seem like she would do that if she truly cared about either one of them. I also felt like there wasn't as much action in this one as the first, and while it doesn't have to be a constant demon-slaying fest, I felt like there should have been a better culmination of good and evil, if you will.

OVERALL:
Clare is a genius. You can tell the dedication and care she puts into the books before she even puts a letter down by the research and thought she puts into the plot line. I can appreciate that immensely, because it makes her settings that much believable. I LOVE that she gives me so much to see and I know that the remainder of her books will not let me down. The only problem now is that I have to wait so long for the third book in this series! Now I'm going to have to go to the Mortal Instruments series to keep me from going crazy. :)

Great book. One thing I love about Cssandra Clare's chracters is that they resite poetry and exude a lot of teenage angst! Very witty, smart, and I love all the refernces to boooks and the lines at the top of all the chapters.

In this highly anticipated sequel to Clockwork Angel, Cassandra Clare weaves a fantastic story that picks you up and drops you down into the middle of The London Institute as if you never left. Tessa has grown in character and not only is she more confident, but she has become even more amazing as the heroine that I grew to love in Clockwork Angel. Although her powers still confound her, she has grown into them and they are no longer something she fears. Then there is Will. Will, who we all know In this highly anticipated sequel to Clockwork Angel, Cassandra Clare weaves a fantastic story that picks you up and drops you down into the middle of The London Institute as if you never left. Tessa has grown in character and not only is she more confident, but she has become even more amazing as the heroine that I grew to love in Clockwork Angel. Although her powers still confound her, she has grown into them and they are no longer something she fears. Then there is Will. Will, who we all know has a terrible secret, and it is a terrible burden for him, but what is more terrible is that even his secret has a secret. His emotional imprisonment has been so devastating that you want to weep for him. Jem is steady, as always, but I felt as if he gained a lot if depth in this book and I grew much more attached to him as a character. The same can be said about Charlotte and Henry, as well as Sophie.

I loved the way we received new and startling information (finally, the TRUTH about Demon Pox!) while gently learning new things about characters we already loved. With every new thing you learn, you can't help but fast forward and think about how, several generations later, these decisions might affect a certain group of young Shadowhunters in New York, but I digress. I read many reviews that said the book made them laugh out loud at points, and that is true, but it was also heartbreaking in many ways. More than that, however, was the feeling that you are back among friends. Cassandra Clare's research and world building is so meticulous and thorough that when I finally put the book down, I was surprised to find myself in modern day Texas and not Victorian England. I can't really be rational in describing my love for the Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instrument series, but I will say that if you read these books, you will not regret it. These are books that you will pick up over and over again over the years. They should sit on the shelves next to your Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings. They are books that will only get better over time. ...more

OH my goodness. I am so in love with this series. I will force myself not to start book 3 until tomorrow or else I might not go to sleep tonight.

Book 2 breaks my heart. I knew it would. I can't say that I'm surprised necessarily with what happened in the story, and the overall plot for the series did not move forward nearly as much as I would've liked, but it is set up nicely for a HUGE finale with Clockwork Princess. I thought I'd go in with 3 stars, but I actually liked it a little bit more than that. Holy moly... first, I love Magnus Bane...and I really like Henry too. It's great that a book like this has witty moments. Good humor is essential. I was shocked about what happened betweent Jem & Tessa towards the end...and maybe even more so when Will came clean.
