The Mortal Instruments is one of my all time favorite series, and I was so excited when I heard that Cassandra Clare was continuing it with City of Fallen Angels! I knew going into it that this book told mostly Simon's story, and since I love Simon, I was okay with that. Unfortunately, it just felt like something was missing from this installment. It wasn't that the writing wasn't good - it's Cassandra Clare, for Heaven's sa ...more

Another great book. These teens are so realistic. This book was dark like the others especially Jace. The dreams of Clary turning to reality was shocking. Simon's story is getting more interesting as is Alec. I love how the warlock calls him Alexander. Isabelle pops off the book with her whip. There was so much going on with Sebastian in a sleep state awaiting to be woken.

This book was every bit as good as the 3 before it. However, I found this to be the saddest of the series, thus far. It's obvious Jace is dealing with inner demons (no pun intended), yet his love for Clary remains so sweet and, to him , redeeming. The ending makes it very hard to wait for the final book, due in May 2012. It was adventure and love and romance with a lot of knife throwing and battle thrown in for good measure. 100% enjoyable!

Ok, of course I read it, I read all the others right!!! So here is my take, I love the more Simon element, however (and this may have to do with a MI overload, I think I finished all 5 books in like a 3 week span) by the end of this book, Jace and his moody angst ridden teenage tantrums, I had had enough of hearing about them. So I think when the next book get released I will reread this one, and maybe my perspective will change.

(view spoiler) ...more

June 2011: I loved the story but not as much as books 1-3. I really liked seeing things thru Simeon's view point but was disappointed in Jace's performance. I can't believe I have to wait until next year to find out what happens next!
