It's been a while since I read the first book in the series, but I still remember how much I loved it. This book had the action, romance, and funny bits all mixed I together along with the twists, turns, and cliffhangers that makes anything amazing. After reading more about the Shadowhunter world, it just makes me yearn more to be one. Seriously, it may seem dangerous with all the demons and monsters, but at other times it's so cool to be one. But anyway, great book and I look forward to reading It's been a while since I read the first book in the series, but I still remember how much I loved it. But anyway, great book and I look forward to reading more in the Shadowhunter world. Clary and Jace as always were great and even though they thing they are brother and sister, I get a feeing that they care for each other more than that no that they are not really related. I hope to find out in the last book to be sure and hopefully they can work out their differences and make up. Jar as always was his funny pleasant self at times. He's been through a lot in this book both physically and emotionally. With the accusations that he's been aiding his evil villainous father and his conflicting feeling about a Clary who is supposedly his sister. But he was still old self at times with his quirky remarks which brought the humor to the book. I really love him and he is one of the best fictional boys in the series. Simon on the other hand is a great friend and bent that. I know he cares about Clary, but she just doesn't feel romantically about him like that, not like with Jace. But he will always be that one friend you can always turn to and hopefully he will get a girl who loves him, maybe it'll be Isabelle which I'm hoping out for. The other characters like Magnus, Isabelle, Alec and the news ones like Maia were also great and each had their own part to the book and I can't wait to read more about them. The ending like the previous book had a cliffhanger that made me want to read more. I'm looking forward to the third book and finally watching the City of Bones movie, Jamie Campbell is the perfect Jace along with Lilly Collins. I hope the tv show is released soon and it's as good as the movie with the cast!! Enjoy the book and the series, I know I am!!!! ...more

This book surprised a lot of people because of one particular element to the plot. I won't give it away, but let me just say this: It's ok. Everything will resolve itself.

The twists and turns in the plot made this installment another unputdownable book. Every time you think that you know all there is to know about this world, another plot twist is revealed and you have to keep reading. ...more
