Clare has the talent of making you trust a person completely and then turning the whole story around on you. It is amazing. She draws me in and then plucks at my heartstrings. It is a testament to how delightful this book is that I was on vacation in Boston and all I wanted to do was get back to the room so I could read. know that I am not the first one to read City of Bones, the first book in the Mortal Instruments Series. However, I HAD to write a review. It’s too good of a book for us not to add it on our bookshelves next to The Twilight Series.

Really 3.5 stars.

After hearing from numerous people that I needed to read this series, and knowing that Cassandra Clare's Clockwork Angel was coming soon, I gave in and moved this series to the top of my to-read list. And after the first 50 pages, I was hooked!
