I am infatuated with The Mortal Instrument Series. It kept me entwined with it's characters and unfolding drama. They are fascinating and unpredictable from page to page. I found a connection with Clary and can not wait to see how she fairs in her new world. Jace, a Shadowhunter, is the perfect pairing for Clary as their adventures draw out his personality and I find myself thrown into every situation along side them. The characters are well thought out, imaginative and unmatched by any other no ...more

Strong characters, romance, fighting...this book has it all. With New York as a backdrop, you get to know the world that is totally hidden from Mundanes. I love the way the Mundane and Shadowhunter worlds mix together, yet exist so separately in many ways. I absolutely LOVE this series. I think it may be one of my favorites, right up there with The Wheel of Time, Night World, and Vampire Academy. Cassandra Clare is a master of world building. The world of Shadowhunters and Demons and Downworlders and Angels is so believable. Not only is the world building phenomenal, but the character development is just amazing. Clary and Jace are the 'main' characters, but Alec and Isabelle and Simon and so many other characters are so real, I could almost expec ...more

This book has been on my "to-read" list ever since a friend recommended this. I've heard people go on and on about this, and I was just in the dark about this completely. Last night, I decided to have a look and see what the fuss was about and Oh My God. I wish I read this sooner!

It was amazing, the story had me at the edge of my seat.. wait wrong word seeing as I live in bed. But you get the picture. Even when I was half way through it, I was raving about this to my mum who told me to finish it

This book is without a doubt one of my all time favorites! A definite page turner, and a book where, as soon as you finish reading it, you MUST begin the second one in the series, even if it is 4:00 a.m.!! I highly recommend it :)
