I really liked this book. I finished it last night, and plan on buying book two today. It's a terrific fantasy book, I had a hard time putting it down.

Loved this book. Going to get the next one today!

I'm somewhat on the fence with this book. I was finally able to set aside my issues with the dialogue and just enjoy the story element of the book, and I think Clare did a nice job creating a believable world where demons and the supernatural exist. That said, I'm not sure if I really rate this book two or three stars. I think I'd give it 2.5 if I could.

I didn't know what I would think of these books once I started them. I actually went in knowing little about them. I just saw good reviews for them and people anxiously awaiting the newest book so I decided I would get the first from the library and try the series out.

Marcy talked me into (okay, begged me) reading this book, and I really enjoyed it. There's a lot to take in - many new terms and new world to learn in this first book, but it is paced well, and leaves you wanting the next book.
My teenage daughter enjoyed it too, blowing through it in just a couple of days. ...more

It was okay. Maybe because so many people raved about it, it didn't turn out to be as great as I thought it was going to be. I felt the characters were lacking just a little bit. They could have been more well rounded. Maybe as the series goes on that happens. There were also several times I found myself thinking "fine, fine, get on with it" (the storyline) There were times when I felt the author could just have moved on with the story and some of it wasn't necessary to make the story complete.

I'm a bit behind on the Twilight Moms book club, but I'm so glad I finally started reading this book. I am completely sucked in to it!! I'm almost done with it and already got the second to read when I finish this one.
