Characters: All solid, charismatic and authentic - something I deeply appreciate each time I read a novel by J.R.Ward. Finally, we get the happy ending to John and Xhex's story. It's not easy at all, this is one of the most tormented couples and probably my favorite so far. A lot of torment (and Thorment, lol) happened around them, they're both survivors and ass-kickers and awesome people vampires or worth. :D Amen, I say.
As usual we have a lot of guest appearances of the other Brothers, and planting the seeds of a Quinn and Blay couple sometime in the future. Either that or planting the seeds of a mental breakdown on my part, because I sincerely hope there won't be a cop out on this as I felt was for V and Butch. I know, I know, they got their bonding on and bla bla bla. Still felt like a cop out then and it does so now. If there'll be another one about Quinn and Blay I will be seriously, soundly disappointed and heartbroken. For God's sake, J.R. Ward, let a Brother be gay. Or two of them, or however many. Seriously, we're all ready for it. And even if we weren't, if the Brother is gay then let him be gay and we'll adjust or not, and it will be our issue or lack thereof. Let the Brother be gay, I say. Yey! (couldn't help myself, lol!)
Plot: Very active, more then one story going on, as usual. Or more like many story ramifications. J. R. Ward's novels are unqiue and tend to present as three novels in one or something. Awesome action, hot love, heaps of awesome.
Writing: Third person narrative from multiple POV's as the story progresses. Excellent as usual. But it's not really much of a surprise anymore. We all know by now that J.R. Ward delivers on all accounts (except the minor one cop out thing. Seriously hoping we won't see an encore on that one.)
Curb Appeal: Impulsive buy material, for the win.

All in all, this was a fulfilling, rewarding reading experience. J.R. Ward's BDB books (and all others, dare I say venture to guess) are masterpieces. If you haven't read one yet, you should. This is where the awesome is at its best. ...more

Wow – just, wow!!

This book totally knocked my socks off!

After the cliff-hanger in Lover Avenged, I could hardly wait to start Lover Mine...and it did not disappoint!

Xhex is one tough chick! I love her!! Lover Avenged ended with Lash kidnapping Xhex, and this one continues right where we last left off. John Matthew is devastated, thinking that Lash has surely tortured and killed Xhex. He gets her name written in the old language tattooed across the back of his shoulders, just a ...more

I have no words. None whatsoever.
I can't understand how Ward does it.
For starters, I am completely BLOWN AWAY by the romance in each and every book in this series. And it's not a vain and shallow kind of love, it's deep to the bones, honest and pure to the heart kind of love. Mates for life and beyond. The kind that takes your breath away and leave you speechless.
That is what Ward has done every time and that is what she did with Lover Mine. She blows you away.
