What Members Thought

This series came highly recommended to me by Buggy and Lisa Sanchez. I thought Dark Lover was very good and I definitely plan on continuing with the series, but I still have some reservations about paranormal romance in general which I’ll share at the end of this review.
Beth is a likable character, a serious journalist who hasn’t had much luck with men. She immediately finds herself in trouble walking home alone late one night, and it’s evident she’s no shrinking violet. Unbeknownst to her, she ...more

It seems that lately I've been subconciously staying away from vampire books because I've been afraid I'll read the same book over and over again. This book was a nice way to get back into the vampire world!
The Brotherhood is a group of big, tough, maybe even scary vampires that listen to rap music, wear nothing but leather, and slay the Lessers. I really like the concept of the Brotherhood versus the soulless humas that hunt them, the lessers.

WOW! that is the only word I can come up with for the first installment of The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Dark Lover. I am not a first book lover in a series, but this was one great start. Wrath, the leader of the Brotherhood was a magnificently well written character as well as all of the characters in this book.
J.R. Ward as spun a world of good versus evil, and love that makes hard unfeeling men soft and yielding. How can you not want want to be a part of a world like that?

I was recommended this book by a friend who said I couldn't read anything else until I tackled this series. And I am glad I did. J R Ward gives you a different kind of vampire, a vampire that sleep during the day, come out at night, can feed on humans, have super strength and drop dead gorgeous looks. It is a series that I have turned five other peeps onto and will continue to!

I'm hooked, what a great start to the series and some fantastic world building for the Vampires.
