It was a decent read and to be fair it may be that I am just too OLD to read this one. It was sweet but not the kind of book you can't live without. I was hoping for something a little more Y/A not a tween read.
It had some great high points but they never really took off. This novel became a little boring mid way but picked up by throwing in some off-the-wall characters. The story line of a forbidden romance was what drew me in and the reason the second novel will be my next step. It was a fast ...more

Okay. So--I didn't think I would like this book. I'm not sure why I pre-cursed the pages, I just did. Well--I couldn't have been more wrong! There are so many elements in Beautiful Creatures that I fell in love with! It was refreshing to read this genre written in a male voice. Ethan Wate is really easy to like and Lena is intriguing from the get-go. I could say more, but why spoil this book's hidden treasures!

Great first book. It really sets the stage for the rest of the series (as I'm still waiting for book 4). The characters are full of life, even in their darker moments. Lena and Ethan have a connection that is fun to read and watch it develop as they try to figure out the weirdness that surrounds them while trying to have a few normal moments in world of magic that isn't so easy. ...more
