Wow.

The sequel to The Hunger Games is just as mind blowing as the first novel in this so far exquisite trilogy.

The protagonist Katniss Everdeen is a thrillingly complex character; real, resilient, courageous, scared, vulnerable and somewhat closed off from people because of life's bitter experiences. Peeta is Katniss' opposite; open, loving, brave and self-sacrificing and I've never rooted more for two people than I have these.

Wow I could not predict where this was going at all. So unexpected! Had me captivated the whole time. I completely loved Peeta in this book.

OKAY!!!! I need to take a breath of fresh air because wow!!! OH WOW!!! Man this book was good. I couldn’t put it down seriously.. I think it took me 8 hours to read it’s that serious I started at 12:00am and took a break from the book at 6:00am to do something dumb like you know sleep lol…. Woke up like @ 10:00am and finished around 12:00pm…WOW WOW OMG that’s all I could say after I finished this book wow.

Okay where to begin on how wonderful this book was. I didn’t think Catching Fire would be a OKAY!!!! I need to take a breath of fresh air because wow!!! OH WOW!!! Man this book was good. Okay where to begin on how wonderful this book was. I didn’t think Catching Fire would be as good as Hunger Games but man was I wrong. This book was so freaking suspenseful I was on the edge of my seat because I had no idea what to expect.. I was so nervous for Katniss throughout the whole book. I mean much more violent things happens but it’s done in a way that Im not put off from it but only makes the book better. I don’t know what to say because I don’t want to ruin the book! But I will state something spoilerish** at least I think so.. Okay I had a feeling they were going to throw Katniss back in the games. I just know how much she hated it and how the capitol knew that all to well. I had a feeling about Putlarch the guy with that mockingjay watch…

Omg and the uprisings is crazy! The way they turned district 12 all crazy with security that was so scary and how the book ended spoiler *** there is no district 12*** Wow is all I can say. I can’t even sum up my thoughts as I write this review because of the no sleep and the shock I have after reading this book. This probably is one of my worst written reviews ever but it’s that the book was do good im speechless.

Two things I felt the book was missing is Gale & Prim. Okay since book 1I have been a Gale fan, I wish he was more involved in this book since he only shared the beginning of the first book! That kiss was OMG!!! Man I wish they shared more than that one kiss! Now I know how much Katniss love her sister but I wish I would have seen them boding or something! But besides that I beyond happy with book, it was so good!

If you haven’t read the hunger games read it now it so good I can’t stress this enough!!!!

The reason I waited so long to write my review for this book is because I wanted to finish the entire series before reviewing the books, that way, I would have the full picture in mind when I started talking about what I did and did not like about the characters and plot.

Catching Fire was my least favorite book of the series. That being said, I do not mean that I do not like it. Even though it is not my favorite of the Hunger Games series, this book still flies right up with The reason I waited so long to write my review for this book is because I wanted to finish the entire series before reviewing the books, that way, I would have the full picture in mind when I started talking about what I did and did not like about the characters and plot.

Catching Fire was my least favorite book of the series. That being said, I do not mean that I do not like it. Even though it is not my favorite of the Hunger Games series, this book still flies right up with my favorite books. It’s just further down the line than Hunger Games and Mockingjay.

The reason I did not like this book as much is because of the plot. I did not like that Katniss and Peeta were thrown back into the Hunger Games for a second time. I really felt like it was just a kind of repeat of the first book. I was expecting to hear more about the rebellion than just a flash of a mocking jay symbol and the crazy hovercraft escape at the end. This is not to say that I did not thoroughly enjoy this new and more deadly Hunger Games. Anyone who knows me will attest to my love of doom in books. The sadder the better, the more traumatic for the characters, the better. I loved the mockingjays that sang the screams of the loved ones of the contestants in the games. I loved the monsoons of blood. I loved the killer monkeys. (On that note, I also LOVED LOVED LOVED hearing about a previous Games where there were killer butterflies and squirrels, nice touch, Collins, nice touch.)

As far as characters go, it is in this book that I first start to dislike Peeta. Peeta, while being one of the sweetest characters in the book, is completely and utterly useless when it comes to the Games. He might be strong, but he is not a fighter. He needs to be behind some podium talking and rallying the rebellion, not trying to do any sort of fighting. He cannot hunt and he cannot protect Katniss no matter how hard he tries. All he does is get hurt and get in the way as far as I am concerned. He is nice and he is adorable, but he is not practical. I ADORED Finnick. There are not words to describe how much I love Finnick. One thing that I love about this series is that even characters that are only in the story for a little while are very, very developed to the point that you care about everyone. I had emotions when people died during the Games.

Overall, while this was my least favorite book, I still enjoyed it and I loved the new characters that were introduced. I loved parts of the plot and I loved the overall doom that overshadows this story. These books are not feel good books. They are books that leave you in piles of soggy tissues and hiding under the bed from the big bad government. Also, I think I will never look at roses the same way. Just throwing that out there.

This book is AWESOME!!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW! This book is so full of twists and turns and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Suzanne does a brilliant job of literally picking up where HG left off.
