After reading The Hunger Games yesterday I hurried to get into Catching Fire today and I was not dissapointed. This book picks up Katniss' story where Hunger Games leaves off and again we see Katniss' growth. Having survived the hunger games, Katniss now struggles to find her place back home in District 12 as well as struggles with the realization that she has unwittingly become the rally cry that leads the revolution. When she is thrown back into the arena she has to decide whether she will def

Catching Fire is awesome! I love how Suzanne describes the relationship between Katniss and Peeta. Katniss is not sure about her feelings for Peeta, but in this novel, she is determined to save him when the Capitol announces that for the 75th Hunger Games (Quarter Quell), tributes will be selected among existing winners. President Snow must have thought that Katniss would perish while facing with a bunch of past winners. I pitied her that nightmares continued to haunt her dreams. As usual, Suzan

It was an excellent sequel to the Hunger Games. Suzanne Collins is fabulous writer!
She take the story of Katniss and Peeta to the next step who after winning the Hunger Games have to come to the arena again. In the end of the Hunger Games book Katniss and Peeta were willing rather to die than kill each other and that act is seen as very rebellious towards the Capitol.
As a punishement Katniss ends up on the arena again and Peeta volunteers for Haymitch. So the games start again, but this time the ...more

Before re-reading Catching Fire, I forgot how much I loved it! I do not know how she does it, but Suzanne Collins has done it again. It is as good if not better than the first book, The Hunger Games. This series is extremely addictive. I could not put done this book even though I have read it before and know what is going to happen. With all of the action, it is such an exciting book. No wonder it was a quick read.

"I really can't think about kissing when I've got a rebellion to incite."
I almost forgot to sleep when I started reading Catching Fire. Pieces are starting to move immediately at the start of the book and the fast-paced approach of delivering the story adds to the thrill and breathtaking follow-up to Hunger Games.
Suddenly, Katniss found herself caught in-between the unrest brewing amongst the District and trying to live as a Victor back in District 12. Her feelings for both Gale and Peeta doesn' ...more

I know I said this before with The Hunger Games, but honestly do not finish this book with out having Mockingjay on hand to start immediatly. The cliff hanger is driving me crazy and though the book is out in stores I am at my cabin in Northern Minnesota with no decent book store for an hour!!!
The book was awesome, this series is slowly taking the number one postion on my favorite list - over taking Twilight....yes, I really just said that. ...more

A bit predictable, but very intense! 4.5 stars. I can't believe I have to wait 3 months for Mockingjay!
