The second installment of the Hunger Games series picks up pretty much where the first left off, though the heart of the action is actually a year later. Katniss finds herself in more trouble, and not just due to her own actions. There's another force at work this time, so though she faces a similar fight-to-the-death situation as the first book, she's dealt a very different hand this time. While she's very attuned to some aspects of her survival, she's quite naive in others. She only gets a gli

This book is AWESOME!!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW! This book is so full of twists and turns and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Suzanne does a brilliant job of literally picking up where HG left off. I seriously can NOT wait another year for book three! I swear I felt every emotion through out this book and I even found myself yelling out loud. I can't wait to get this in Sept.

I'm not usually too big on sequels. They usually disappoint, but I have to say: I liked this book as much, if not more, than Hunger Games. EXCEPT...what's up with the ending? Or rather, the lack of ending? I understand the concept of a series, but I also think each book should be able to stand alone. This one doesn't. That said, the book was a page turner. I loved the intrigue, the new characters, the development of Haymitch and others... I am still iffy on the romance element. Peeta gets my vot

After reading The Hunger Games, I was prepared that there was no way that the second book could live up to the first, but boy was I wrong. Catching Fire was 100% more intense than the first book, and I found my self gripping the edge of my seat while reading. I can not even begin to describe to you what this book meant to me or how good it was. It literally left me speechless. There is also not much I can say due to the fact that I will not give away any spoilers. Just be prepared to fall into m

May 2012 - This is my favorite of the series. I just reread it for the...well again. I like it because of the character development, especially Peeta. Katniss is not the most likeable in this one, though. I also like the new characters. Upon rereading the beginning is too long. The lead up to the Quarter Quell could be shorter.
June 2013 - The Quarter Quell is too short. It is kind of unsatisfying.

Loved it! It was amazing!! This is why I didn't want to read it for the longest because I knew I would want the third one right away and I was right. This one was just as awesome as the first one! Full of shocking moments, kept me at the edge of my seat not wanting to stop reading.

I loved this book!! I can't believe that I have to wait until next year to read the next book. It's going to be torture! So many great twists and turns that I didn't see coming. If you liked Hunger Games, you'll love the follow up book Catching Fire!

I thought this book started a little slower than Hunger Games, but after a couple of chapters I was hooked and read it in 1 day. I did not expact any of what happened and still cannot decide if I'm Team Peeta or Team Gale. Awesome book!!!

Listened to this for my reread to get ready for the movie. Still absolutely LOVE the book but really don't like that narrator. She doesn't capture Katniss' spunk and sarcasm. And I hate how she says Peeta. PEE-ta.
