I started this book before Christmas, but then I put it down and didn't have time to read it. I picked up back up this week and started over and I couldn't put it down. I really liked this book and it really left me wanted more. I can't wait for the second book to come out.

Okay, so everyone was right. This really is a great book. It's fast moving and suspenseful, and the plot just keeps moving and the tension keeps rising and in the midst of it all is a great romance and believable characters and a believable world. (Even if it is creepy.) This book is on the Young Adult shelves but it's one that's crossed over and is worth reading. My only complaint: it obviously leaves you hanging for book 2. I hate that!

I wasn't going to read this book because of the premise. But, for book group it was chosen. I read it in 24 hours and it was a page turner. As I read I sadly realized that it could happen. It was very much like Rome and the gladiator tournaments and coliseum "entertainment". (But, I digress.) I thought that it was a well thought out and clever book. I was not offended and am excited for the next book in August.

This book sucked me in from the very first page...
I mentioned this in another post about the book, but I thought the writing was really tight, and Collins has created a world that feels very real and fleshed out. She has that special "Stephenie-Meyer-knack" of breathing life into her characters and making them feel as if they really exist. ...more

Loved this book and can't wait for the sequel. I just finished the book and have already pushed it on my brother. It's definitely something I will recommend to everyone.
