I have read this book twice (three times now, I had too; the new movie made me want to do a re-read!), once before the movie came out and once after. I have to say I liked it okay before the movie came out, it was interesting and my first taste of vampires. After watching the movie I have to say the book didn’t hold as much appeal. I bought this after reading the article in Entertainment Weekly in July of 2008. I devoured this book in three hours while on vacation, re-read it that night and went out the next day to buy "New Moon" and "Eclipse".
