It is great when an author can take the time to create a backstory to one of their characters. Bree Tanner is an interesting persona and this novel does her justice. This book gave an in-depth and interesting perspective in the eyes of Bree. The telling of her struggles of confusion on becoming a newborm vampire, of leaving her old life and not knowing what she should do now. This is an Eclipse novella.

Bree was a very minor character in Eclipse, and I did not really find her particularly interesting. I thought the first half of the book was boring, and it was not until the second half when the newborn army was preparing for the upcoming battle that I started getting into it. It does add another dimension to the story, so I think that most Twilight fans will probably choose to read it.

I really like the Twilight books, but this story didn't wow me like the rest of the series. It was ok, and gave some more insight to the series, but it felt like something was missing. Still, it was a quick and entertaining read, and likely most Twilight fans will like it. ...more
