Loneliness, violence, suspicion, and the ever painful longing for blood. These are the facts of unlife for Bree Tanner.
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is a teasingly brief glimpse into the violent world of Bree Tanner. This novella is filled with intriguing back story and gives the reader an up close and personal look at the traumatic afterlife these young vamps are forcefully born into. Bree faces the challenges of a newborn vamp, but to her surprise she may not have to face them alone. A ...more

I was not really inclined to read this story anytime soon. I am a huge Twilight Saga fan and always will be, but after reading the books I have encountered so many amazing YA novels and series, that Twilight’s shortcomings became amazingly glaring.
Don’t get me wrong, as I said, I will always love the series and I’ll probably re-read the books for a 6th time in the future, but I wasn’t really interested in reading this short story about a character t ...more

Being a fan of Stephenie Meyer's book, I was little sceptical about this small novella. Especially because often that kind of "side-stories" are not as good as the original books. But it turned out pretty good.
Meyer writes as good as ever! She's a great story-teller.
I liked the character of Bree, who was actually an unsignificant person in Eclipse. In this novella, she was quiet, cautious, shy, keeping in background. She was nothing special compared to so many other characters in the book. But ...more

I was super excited to have this book in my hands, but unfortunately it was not all that I expected. The book was set in Bree Tanner's point of view. We learned that she new born vampire, created to kill Bella. The other newborns around her don't know much either, but Bree is quickly catching on.
It become obvious that Bree immediately has a connection with Deigo. The friendship they had grew into something more. I smiled at the prospect of Deigo being Bree's mate. I wished that could've been, bu ...more

This book tells the story of Bree, a newborn vampire created by Victoria to be part of the army against the Cullens. Bree has only two concerns - quenching her thirst and staying "alive." But that changes as she begins to trust Diego, another vampire in the army who's slightly older. Together they uncover Riley and Victoria's plot. But in the end, it doesn't matter.
It was interesting seeing Bree's perspective and getting a true glimpse of being a newborn. I wish we had seen more of Bree and Dieg ...more

I was so excited to get my hands on a copy of Fans of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner! Finally, something new by Stephenie Meyer.
I was kind of surprised that I ended up liking Bree as much as I did. I enjoyed seeing the newborns' side of everything that went down during Eclipse. I liked seeing how a "true" vampire that drink human blood thought. She was definitely smart but naive because Riley kept the newborns in the dark about some aspects of being a vampire. Her short-lived relationship ...more

I tried hard not to put much spoilers into this review, if you had already read Eclipse what i wrote wont give anything away. hopefully.
This review is going to be awfully dramatic, you can't expect less from someone nicknamed Twilaholic as far as Twilight is concerned.
however I've read a lot of reviews and I can tell that a lot of people hated it but then again they all seemed to be the same people who hated Twilight in the first place. For me as a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer I totally loved the ...more

i really enjoyed this short story of one of the least know Twilight saga (Eclipse only) characters.
to read the first few pages by Stephanie, you get a great feel for why it was Bree's story to come more to life on the page. i really enjoyed hearing more about the newborn POV and what becoming an army was like. as we all know how Bree's story ends, i didnt think i could be all that moved by the ending, yet i still was. another great offering by Ms. Meyer!! ...more

Although I was hoping for a little more of Bree's history (like pre-vamp maybe) I still really enjoyed the book. I feel kind of bad that she had to die now. I think she and Freaky Fred would have made an interesting addition to the Cullen Clan!

This book is about the vampire life of "newborn" Bree Tanner who is in Eclipse for a short time. I was quite disappointed with it as it is nowhere near as riveting as any of the others although it does give you an understanding of how the rogue newborns lived.
