★★★★★ Yes, five full stars! One of the best paranormal/fantasy books I’ve read this year! I wanted to read it faster, but real life got in the way. As it was, I had it planned for a future “buddy read” and peeked at the first few pages. Three chapters later I was e-mailing my GR friend to hint around about moving this one up in our queue; luckily, she agreed. Ha! Indeed, she finished the book before I did. This is the fi

*4.5 STARS*

I thought this was great! I really loved Pia and Dragos, especially the way that Pia was able to "manage" him. LOL

I just wish I had seen more about Pia's history, her Wyr form, and how that changes things. I'm hoping to see more of that as the series continues.

This is my first book by Thea Harrison but it won't be my last. I'm really interested in continuing this series.

Thanks ~KarenH~ for the recommendation!

A couple people recommended this book to me and I'm glad I took them up on it and read it. Pia was a great heroine. She was smart and resourceful. Don't let the cheesy cover throw you off, this is a fun story that will leave you wanting more.

What I enjoyed:
* Pia. She made one stupid mistake before the book started and it snowballs into craziness. I love that she stood up to Dragos, his sentinels and Urien.
* Dragos. I disliked him at the beginning. The super old, all-powerful, overbearing males g

Well, what a feel good book this is. Despite all the bad things that keep happening to the H/h it still has a feel good thing about it.

Pia a half breed, is alone in the world and has stupidly let it slip to her boyfriend, now her ex, she can slip past locks. He lets it out he can steal anything and blackmails Pia into stealing from Dragos Culebre. He is the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind.

Pia doesn't expect to survive the stealing but doesn't have any choice.

Dragos, discovers the theft

Absolutely fantastic! I totally loved this book. Pia Giovanni has been kept protected by her mother for her entire life. Hiding from...well everyone. She is half-human, half-wyr though she has no idea what she would become since she cannot shift. Her mother has convinced her that it is extremely dangerous to let anyone know about her abilities. In her loneliness, she tells her boyfriend one thing and he uses it to blackmail her. Of course Pia is smarter than the average bear and she does what he ...more

This was another random pick, because it fit several challenges. The premise sounded good, although I was afraid it would be like other shifter books without a lot of substance. But I was very pleasantly surprised! I loved the book and I can't wait to read more of the series.

I like Pia right away; she was blackmailed into stealing a coin from a dragon's hoard; which she knew would most likely be the death of her. I was hooked, at the end of the first chapter, when Dragos discovers the theft and

A couple of issues kept this from being a perfect five stars. But otherwise i LOVED it! Exciting, sexy, and well written. If only it didn't have such a horrible cover. ...more

Good first book of a new series. However I did think it was similar to quite a few other series, especially Nalini Singh's guild hunters. ...more

I put this book off once I saw that the hero was really possessive and controlling, as they are not my type. I kept reading reviews where people were raving about it though, so when it came up in a challenge I thought I would at least check it out.

I liked it a lot. Pia is great, I enjoyed her character, especially what she left when she stole the item :) Dragos is a lot more fun that I was expecting, and I would like to read more in this world.

Excellent start to a new series or as a stand alone. Loved that there was actually give and take between the h/h as they tried to figure out how to be in a relationship with each other.
