What Members Thought

On the surface it's one of Mishima's funnier works in an absurd, perhaps not entirely intentional way. He was of course no stranger to pouring doses of himself into his writing, but it's interesting to see this done here while he was so young and writing about an old, sardonic man in the character of Shunsuke. It began to give the sense that he was written through a fearful, at times dejected lens, a life that he would make sure to never end up submitting to. The book comes close to being in Mis

Now this was HIGHLY amusing, easily my favourite after Sea of Fertility. Mishima gives himself the arduous task of depicting the most gorgeous and irresisitable gay boy EVAR. An Homme Fatale!
