Eerily beautiful and delicately romantic. This ominous masterpiece paints vivid scenes of love, distrust and loss through the most beautiful descriptions I have ever read. Mishima is awe-inspiring and nothing short of impressive in his use of words to construct mood, feeling and atmosphere throughout.

Terrifyingly gorgeous. Yukio Mishima is an example of a case in which it is a grave injustice to separate the art from the artist—his ideological being bleeds into his marvelously sculpted work. With just one book, he has cemented himself as a literary giant in my eyes.
