Rebecca Solnit's A Field Guide to Getting Lost is a lovely & ultimately optimistic meditation on loss & exploration. Recommended to everyone.

More like 4.5 stars for me. I love Solnit's style and voice, so smart yet still approachable. I would highly recommend this book for anyone curious in what it means to "get lost," to lose, to grieve. Such an interesting set of examinations on that theme woven with personal memoirs and Solnit's characteristic influx of historical anecdotes as well. A great book.
