When I read this, I thought it had good, exciting episodes, but seemed strangely disjointed and unsatisfying. It was not until I found an unabridged copy that I understood why - large portions of the story are missing here! These are not dull or unimportant bits; but they are episodes where the hero behaves in a less than moral manner.
