Hedda Gabler is one of the courageous works of Henrik Ibsen. Hedda is one of the most challenging female roles in theatre. Recently, Cate Blanchett reprised the role of Hedda in an Australian production, and the play was shown in Broadway and West End in rave reviews. The character and motivation of Hedda can be interpreted in ways: as a villainess, as a feminist archetype, or just someone who is consumed by jealousy and selfishness. This is a brilliant work from the Norwegian maestro of drama.
