The Prince and the Pauper is a novel by American author Mark Twain. It was first published in 1881 in Canada, before its 1882 publication in the United States. The novel represents Twain's first attempt at historical fiction. This was a really good book. In certain places it had that adorable, make-your-side-ache humor that I've noticed in all of the Twain novels I've read so far. This epistle was heart-warming.
What I REALLY love is Twain's use of dialogue! The old-English was a really nice touch, and then that odd "thieves language" was so interesting. Whether he made it up or researched it, it was amazing. 0.o ...more
