I listed this on Goodreads as having read it before. Although I remember the general outline of the story I have no recollection of actually having read it.
This time around I loved it.
Heidi is delightful, so filled with compassion for those around her, desiring to fill their needs, whether it be poverty of wealth, friendship, or education. I read this a million times growing up. I liked the food....

God what a pleasant vacation. I highly recommend revisiting books you loved as a child as an adult and giving yourself that luxury often. Why not remind yourself of the characters you wanted to become, the lessons you learned growing up? Why not remind yourself of the parts of the world you thought would be great? Why not remind yourself of the things you thought you might live for?
