I love the Night Huntress series with Cat and Bones and enjoyed book 1 of the Night Huntress World series (First Drop of Crimson); but this book (NHW #2) did not keep me as engrossed in the story as the others. Mencheres and Kira together are explosive... great chemistry... hot sex! When he is not with Kira, he spends much of his time in a rather depressed and droning state (a master vampire second-guessing himself constantly). I found myself skimming through several pages during these ...more

Nedense aklımda ak sakallı dede gibi yada en azından 60lık bi adam gibi canlandırdığım mencheres in 25 yaşında hatta kimi zaman 20sinde görünen biri olmasını başta yadırgasamda birkaç sayfada alışılabilmesi de bu yazarın yeteneği olsa gerek.

I loved this book like all the books in this series. It made me think of Mencheres in a different light than when i read about him in cat and bones books. I love how jeaniene frost has written these books with side characters that are important to the main story. I think Kira and Mencheres are great together!
I always pictured Mencheres much older than he was. Human age that is :). I guess I felt him described more older. So I was curious how his story would turn out.
I liked it. He made a great hero. It was nice to get a look into his past and what makes him tick.

I really enjoyed this book, much more than I thought I would, passionate, action, great read, great spin off from The Night Huntress Series.
