review of another edition
A decent read, and I'm only saying this because I am somewhat disappointed in how it ended. You get your HEA, but not how you want it. It's hard to review this book without spoiling it however, the hero has a tortured past and the heroine is plain. The one thing I really like is the information about the nurses. The heroine is a nurse and not many people realize this, but the nursing profession started out with prostitutes. It would be a part of their sentence to take fare of the sick. That's al

What an incredible moving story. I only wish that it didn't have to end.
There is nothing remotely cliché about Matthew or his actions throughout his journey in this book. He is often times cruel and more times than not heartless, as he so often refers to himself. I had a hard time getting into this one. Didn't care for the Hero. Waaaaaaaaaaaay too much melodrama for me. Not really my cuppa. Awesome cover, though.

Good story. I wouldn't say it unique, and I might not remember it in a few months, but it lets us feel connected with the characters in someway...

Another thing I liked is that we had more of Matthew's point of view than Janes. Which is nice, since a big partion of books focus only on the female's POW. ...more

First one I read of Featherstone. Loved the whole nurse falls for her patient- and what a patient! Matthew is all about pleasure and sensual delights uninterested in tender feelings. A scandal and class keeps Matthew from declaring his love for Nurse Jane who although plain awakens in him real love he can't handle.
