I had to drive to the airport the other day. It's a 40 minutes drive from my home through the mountains of my island across hills silver with olive trees and verdant with vinyards dotted here and there with the sober lances of cypresses. Z, Rhage and now Rhev have my favorite books of the series thus far. Very intense conclusion in this one with a cliffhanger ending that will have you BEGGING for John Matthew's book this April.

I'm so glad I suffered through Phury's book to make it here. Lover Avenged not only told Rhev and Elena's story, we had the added bonus of Wrath & Beth and John Matthew & Xhex drama and hookups. This is book 7 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This book focuses on Rehvenge. Rehv isn’t actually part of the Brotherhood, he’s kinda the opposite. I love this series. But this book had way too much of what I call skanky sex. Skanky sex involves unpleasant characters who use sex as a degrading experience. Frankly, if JR Ward continues in this direction, she will lose me as a reader much as Laurell Hamilton did with her Anita Blake series. The first books were the best in this series. More recently, Ward seems intent to shock.
