What a great book! I loved the Mackinnons, although I did find their heritage pretty fun: exiled Highlanders with Viking blood (from their mother, apparently), raised with the Mohicans.. Lol.. Can't get any fiercer!

One of my favorite quotes (view spoiler)

Another fabulous pre-Revolutionary frontier romance from Pamela Clare. I love these books! The hero is wonderful - a real hero, who is honorable, intelligent, kind, loyal and protective. Sigh. The heroine is also really great. Her life has been turned upside-down, she's been sold into servitude, but she is still determined to make a life for herself, as much on her own terms as she can realistically expect. The hero and heroine are such fundamentally decent people that you can't help but like th ...more

Still 5 stars. I listened to the audiobook and Kaleo Griffith does the narration and he's great, he also does her I-Team series and I think her other historical romance trilogy. Love his narration every time.

I've been wanting to reread this for a couple years now, I think the audiobook used the Berkley edition, which has new material. I don't know what that was since it has been a while since I read the Leisure Book edition.

I'm looking forward to rereading the other two in this tr

This was a re-read because I could not remember what it was about, I think I read it in between other series last year or I skipped a lot, either way, second time around I loved it and will probably pick up the rest of the series, although I am a fan of women who do not need rescue every hour of the day like the one in here:)

Was a pretty good read. First for Pamela Clare. Pretty good plot and the relationship between Iain and Anne was cute. Story flowed well and ended well.
