I enjoyed the direction of the story and that it was loosely based on Cinderella. The folklore and fairy tales in the story are interesting and it’s a nice touch. Little stories within a story. There was a lot of waiting and build up and “come on already” type emotion when reading it regarding the relationships and the visits Ash has/makes/goes to. They don’t seem to have as much meat as some of the other parts of the book. I was happy with the ending but not with how and the way it got there. E

I have been meaning to read this book since it came out and only recently picked it up and read it. I was not disappointed.
While I consider it a light read, and wanted it to be as such, it does get deeper as the story folds. Admittingly, it takes a while to gear up and sometimes it does tend to drag, characterization could also be improved and there are a lot of descriptions- however, coming from a philosophy background it did not annoy me for the most part and instead reveled in it.
