So addictive! Great series- loved the interactions between MK and the boys- esp Kody. Right from the start when he was hiding her. But have to say, Steele was pretty hot too. Some of the scenes were so steamy. Archer was great too but frustrated with him. Taking too long despite the obvious attraction. I like that she’s not so innocent. Knows what she wants and how she wants it.

Book 2 is just as good as book 1 in terms of the audio and narration! I loved the emotions you could feel through their words, through their inflections. These 2 have really brought these characters to life for me, making this series one of my top favs of audiobooks of 2020!! I think Brooke improved in book 2 with her Kate rendition and then I am still not a huge fan of Bree's voice but she was way more tolerable this go around. I thought Lucas did a good job with the guys, especially Kody for some reason (Archer's depiction was improved and Max's was amazing as it was in book 1). I thought his narration made Kody seem super real and I forgot I was listening to fiction to be honest. 5/5 stars for both narrators, definitely going on my "good narrator list" for future listens ❤️

This book did not suffer sequel-itis one bit!!!! I think I loved it more than Hate, which is crazy to think about because I really enjoyed book 1 of the Madison Kate series. I think because in this book there were more twists (some things from book 1 were answered so that’s was satisfying haha), more development with MK and her men, and the plot was so dramatic but sometimes understated (with the little things the stalker is doing) that it just flowed really well.

Now for the cliffhanger. There was definitely one at the end of book 1 but I wouldnt say there is for book 2. Yes it is a shock that kinda comes out of left field (I loved it by the way and cannot wait to see MK’s reaction and blow-up haha) but its not a cliffy in my opinion. I already preorder book 3 and will be itchy for any clues/hints Tate is willing to share early haha. I dont want to wish the summer away, but is it almost September yet??

In Liar, we get to see MK’s walls come down. She is still is feisty and stubborn and strong, but she lets some of the guys see into here a little bit. I loved Steele in book 1 and I learned to super love Kodiak in book 2. I think the touching moments with Archer towards the end made me on board with the harem in the future (I mean after he has to deal with his fallout at the end of Liar). I absolutely was engaged and enthralled the whole time I read. I kept getting confused when I would see how far I had gone “when I was only reading for 30 mins” hahaha. Yeah, then 2 hours passed. The steam in this book was OFF THE CHART but not overpowering. There is a clear story and plot line, its not just sex all the time which is great (I mean I love books that are all sexy times too but I kinda space them out/have to be in the mood if you know what I mean 😉😆😁). I loved seeing how protective the guys were with MK, how they are finally showing how much they care and want to keep her safe, and just how dangerous, sexy, moody, teddy-beary they can be haha. I mean the cuddles and touching were the nice cherries on the top.

Ok, before I end this rambly review I do want to say that I love the mystery of this story. I have a feeling the Barkers have more to do with this than meets the eye and I am sometime suspicious of Bree but I feel like that is a decoy move haha. I cannot wait to learn more in Fake, to see if the guys can redeem themselves once again, more clues to who was trying to kill MK, who is stalking her, and more of the dark secrets Archer, Kody, and Steele are hiding. Oh and I want her dad to have the biggest cause of karmic justice. No joke. I have very dark hopes for him, and I hope MK can deliver the justice after all the crap he has put her through. ...more

This series can’t get finished soon enough so many plot twists and turns that my head is reeling.
I’m in love with these characters and this series. The way TATE writes sucks you in and pulls your heart out.
