Tate James is indisputably a Queen of RH. Her books are action and adventure, drip with sex and seduction, reek of violence and death, and are always enthralling. Her twisted imagination seems to have no limits. I thought Madison Kate was the best Shadow Grove could offer. I was wrong. Hades has been exceptional. Hades character growth edged her a tiny sliver past MK. Emotionally stunted, understandably so, Hayden became the baddest bitch on the block to survive and protect. She rules Shadow Grove and makes grown men pale in fear. But when it came to love, Hades was brought to her knees by a teenage boy, a tattooed gang leader, and her best friend. She overcame Chase and then she conquered herself. These side-by-side storylines were addictive. Emotions. Emotions. EMOTIONS. I read the first chapters half sick and angry, then I was scared (hold my breath scared), worried, hopeful, vengeful, thrilled, sad, furious, elated, satisfied. The emotional seesaw Tate left me off-balance and intoxicated. The way these characters would go from murder to sex to dinner was a dynamic that seemed 100% genuine for them. And that's the moment you realize the characters are as real to you as your next-door neighbor. Shadow Grove is as real a the next town over. And the outcome of everyone is of utmost importance to your own well-being. That is the talent of Tate James.

So, yes we reached the conclusion of this series. Hades, Zed, Lucas, and Cass lived to see another day. They will continue to kill, steal, sell illegal guns, and enjoy an enviable sex life. Seph, Demi, Rex, Chase, Alexi, Nadia, and Diana all had their paths laid out. But there are still so many mysteries, so many stories to be told. Who was the huge man in the suit (Guild)? What does Heather know? What secrets went to the grave? Don't think for one second this story ends wrapped up with a pretty bow. That wouldn't be fitting for Hades. It ended like a knife wrapped up in black ribbon, tied up with diamonds, and dripping with blood presented by an 8-year-old with an attitude. couldn't have been any other way. ...more

HOLY MOLY WHAT DID I JUST FINISH?!?!?!!?

Ok, got that off my chest haha. So Hades surpassed my love of MK, I know this series is going to stick with me for a long, long time. I haven't felt for an MC with that kind of personality and storyline before so much. Usually I fall for MCs that have similar traits to myself, but Hades and I are pretty far apart but I loved every second of this series. I loved her men so hard, despite the crazy rollercoaster they all had to take. Some of the side charact HOLY MOLY WHAT DID I JUST FINISH?!?!?!!?

I loved her men so hard, despite the crazy rollercoaster they all had to take. Some of the side characters were Tate's aces up her sleeve, stealing the show (in a good way) and I wish she would just write from this world for the next couple years because I would be SO FREAKING HAPPY!!!

I don't want to give anything away because that would be a huge disservice, but be ready for the hardest book yet by Tate in terms of tough subjects. She will rip your heart out, smash it, stomp on it, and then lovingly bring it back to life slowly but surely. We go on this ride with Hades and her men, and I felt like a fly on the wall, seeing and experiencing it for myself. I cancelled plans, took longer lunch breaks, and honestly made an indent on my couch from not moving for long periods of time because I couldn't stop reading (I wish I was a fast reader but it helps stretch out the awesomeness of the stories I read haha - or at least that's what I tell myself!).

I cannot wait for more from Tate, definitely getting these in paperback and will be preordering Timber when its out on audio in a couple months. I will say that the only critique I had was part of the ending/wrap-up. Without giving anything away, I understood where Tate was going and I definitely think it was the right decision in terms of Chase's demise, but I thought some part of it were glossed over/not done to normal Tate fashion in terms of the flow and giving enough info to satisfy the reader. Its not things that she was holding out for the new series, but a couple sentences here and there in some of the reveals at the end I think would have helped wrap it up for me. It left me a tiny bit unsatisfied because we had all these books leading up to it and we don't get to really see how they ended up making it happen. As someone who loves how intricate Tate's stories are and how dimensional she makes the plot and characters, I was hoping for that throughout and it was just a tad underwhelmed with the ending. Now the epilogues....ooooh man those were hilarious and awesome and I totally didnt tear up...no way, no how 🤣

Loved this series, easily top 5 series I have read in the last couple years. Tate is on a roll and I hope she keeps her muses happy because I don't want to get off the Tate Shadow World train anytime soon 😍 ...more

The way Tate James writes a story is absolutely magical. The roller coaster of pain and intrigue that the main characters go through is incredible. Steaming, erotic sexy scenes that leave you panting.
I cannot wait to find out more about Shadow Grove and the Guild.
